Writer first
The order matters. Garrett writes the world, the people, and the beats before anything else exists: the story bible, the treatment, the screenplay, the shot list. The trailer was cut from a written storyboard, and the daily series that carried it to the deadline was written the same way, one day and one action at a time. Direction and production are how the writing gets to the screen without losing its shape.
